"Trip Log ... November 16, 2012"
The River "S" Unit of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge has a 4.2 mile auto tour route and 1.5 mile seasonal hiking trail. The auto tour is an excellent way to see the Refuge. A pair of binoculars is a must and a camera makes it even more fun !!!

Went late afternoon on an overcast gray day, just to add to the Weekly Bird Count ... had 38 species in one loop, with the highlights being a mature Red-shouldered Hawk and a Pileated Woodpecker ... photography was impossible due to the lateness of the day and it being overcast and looking like rain ... camera used Canon Rebel T3i with 300z.
