The River "S" Unit of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge has a 4.2 mile auto tour route and 1.5 mile seasonal hiking trail. The auto tour is an excellent way to see the Refuge. A pair of binoculars is a must and a camera makes it even more fun !!!

Great day for Kestrels !!!!! ... and first view of a Muskrat. Overcast day which ended with a "wild west" flavor when a herd of cows got loose into the refuge.

This trip includes ... American Kestrel ... Rock Pigeon ... Barn Swallow ... Pied-billed Grebe (juvenile) ... Great Blue Heron ... Muskrat ... Cows ... Cows and Starlings ... European Starling ... Mayweed Chamomile ... Red Clover ... Pennyroyal ...
