"Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge" "Trip Log ... February 16, 2008"

The River "S" Unit of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge has a 4.2 mile auto tour route and 1.5 mile seasonal hiking trail. The auto tour is an excellent way to see the Refuge. A pair of binoculars is a must and a camera makes it even more fun !!! The day was overcast until 4:00 when the sun came out !!!!!!! ... Highlights included a male Hooded Merganser with a fish as big as he was, and a NEW Ridgefield Bird for me, the Red-breasted Sapsucker. This trip includes ... Red-breasted Sapsucker ...
